bigger picture moments: possibility
{printing with apples...}
I'm sitting at our dining room table, enjoying a few moments of quiet before lunch. I can hear the rustling of papers outside on the porch, the scent of acrylic and tempera paints lingering. There is nary a cloud in the sky. The kids are watching a show in the other room, slowing their bodies down from a morning full of learning and painting and then covering themselves in paint and finally bathing... all in a morning. We are here, living and breathing and taking in our moments as they move seamlessly from one to the next. Today this is not hard. Today things are light. Today we can do this and everything seems possible.
I'm bottling this feeling, keeping it close to me in a smile and a warmth deep within.

Today we are linking up over at Alita's... will you join us?
I love that you have the wisdom to know you do need to bottle it because it is so fleeting. Good news, even though I am like fifteen years down the road from the apple printing mornings reading this piece I was right back there in the moment again. So, bottle it, yes! And seal it tight so you will have it for always.
Aren't those just lovely days - feeling that all things truly are possible? There is a lightness in the air and each step comes with ease. I so wish those days were more abundant. If you find a way to bottle that feeling, I'll take a whole truckload!
so true- I've taken to starting the other days over - we all go back to our rooms - and then come out and pretend it's the start of the day :) do-overs!!!!
What an incredible feeling - we all need a little more of that in our lives.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE those days that seem effortless and meaningful all at once. I savor them, too, bottling them in my heart.
